Nourish Restaurants celebrate 1000th ‘pay it forward’ meal claimed with new charity loyalty card
Last week, Nourish Restaurants launched a brand new reward scheme. The ‘Pay it Forward Loyalty Card’ isn’t your average reward system. As stamps are collected, the paying customer benefits, and so do the underprivileged populations of Sheffield and Leeds.
The ‘Pay it Forward’ concept is simple. Nourish customers can opt to pay for an extra meal or hot drink alongside their order, buying a meal for themselves, as well as somebody else that may not be able to afford one themselves. This extra order is then placed onto the Pay it Forward Tree. Each Nourish restaurant has a Tree, and the free drinks and meals available at each Nourish are placed onto them, for somebody less privileged to collect. The purchase of one extra meal or drink enables the gifting of a warming, nutritious meal in the comfort of Nourish’s relaxed and welcoming restaurants.
So far, Nourish’s Sheffield restaurant has given away 460 free meals, with Leeds slightly ahead with 545. The Pay it Forward Loyalty card commemorates the achievement of the 1000th free meal milestone.
Many of Nourish’s customers have paid for additional food and drink, and this has greatly benefitted Leeds and Sheffield’s homeless population – providing fresh, wholesome food and drink to those in need. The Pay it Forward Loyalty Card aims to accelerate the growth of Nourish’s pay it forward scheme, with the acquisition of stamps resulting in items added to the Pay it Forward Trees.  The system works as follows:
 ·       Spend over £5 five times - place a free hot drink on the Pay it Forward Tree
 ·       Spend over £5 ten times - the customer receives a 50% discount on their next meal, and will be able to place a free meal on the Pay it Forward Tree
The Pay it Forward Loyalty Card rewards regular customers, and generates free food and drink for Leeds and Sheffield’s less privileged populations. Nourish Founder and nutritionist, David Stache, commented:
“Since we opened our first store in Sheffield, we’ve taken part in the ‘pay it forward’ concept. We saw a fantastically positive response from our customers, and passed the 100th meal only a few weeks after the launch of the Pay it Forward Tree. We’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers. The new loyalty card scheme helps our customers further support and connect with the vulnerable and homeless, helping them to get a good meal. We are proud to have such a generous and understanding customer base who support our ethos for helping those in need.”
The Pay it Forward Loyalty Card is available in the Leeds and Sheffield Nourish Restaurants now.

Do feel free to share your stories with us. We love hearing how you are 'Paying it Forward' in the UK
